Manufacturers of coffee packes a few types of this product: grain, ground, freeze-dried granulated and powdered coffee. Type of packaging and packaging equipment is selected depending on the properties of the packaged coffee. According to standards, coffee is allowed to be packaged in doses from 1 grams up to 10 kilograms into packaging bags, made of paper, polypropylene, cardboard and combined materials, as well as glass and metal cans. Shelf life of ground coffee: 12-18 months (depends on packaging and storage conditions). Shelf life of the grain coffee: from 6 to 60 months (depending on the degree of roasting and tightness of packaging). Shelf life of freeze-dried coffee in
packaging — 3 years.
Bulk varieties include large-leaf tea, medium-leaf and granulated tea. Rules of its packaging and storage is also regulated by the state standard. Tea is packaged in doses from 25 to 250 grams in soft and semi-hard packaging (paper, polypropylene, polyethylene and multilayer). In the finished container (glass, wood, metal cans) tea is packed with a net weight from 50 grams to 1.5 kg. Shelf life of packed tea depends on its grade (black, green, yellow and hibiscus) and the type of packaging. On average packed tea is stored for 12 months.

PACKAGING OF TEA ANG COFFEE INTO SACHET BAGS

Sachet bags are used in portion packaging of tea and coffee. Coffee without supplements are packaged in 2 grams bags, with additives (coffee 3 in 1) — by 15 — 20 grams. Coffee in sachet bags is convenient for cooking outside the house (in the train, plane, on work etc.). Often sachet bags of coffee are subjected to a secondary group packaging in corrugated boxes. Tea sachet bags usually by portions 20 — 30 grams with subsequent packaging into corrugated boxes or cans.
